Omid Ghanat-Abady

Omid Ghanat-Abady is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the undergraduate Animation program at the University of Worcester's Theatre, Film & Media Production department. Previously, he held a lecturing position in Animation at the University of Wolverhampton, contributing significantly to 3D modeling and animation development.

His research focuses on character design, animation techniques, and heritage visualization, with recent explorations into motion capture for storytelling and character-driven narratives. Notably, he contributed to Sam Moore's film An Eyeful of Sound, which experimentally addresses synaesthesia through non-character-based approaches.

Teaching emphasizes both traditional and cutting-edge animation methods, reflecting his professional experience as a freelance illustrator before academia. His expertise in CGI is complemented by interdisciplinary interests in film and interactive narrative techniques.
