Olivier Rubin is a Professor at Roskilde University, Denmark, affiliated with the Department of Social Sciences and Business under the Globalization and Europeanization research group. His work focuses on public health policy, disaster management, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) governance. He has contributed to understanding policy dynamics of slow-onset crises like AMR and climate change, as well as pandemic responses. Rubin has led projects such as SCAMR (Exploring the policy dynamics of global antimicrobial resistance) and collaborated on studies of crisis governance in Vietnam and Europe.
His research interests include the political dimensions of global health challenges, evidence-based decision-making in public health emergencies, and the alignment of national policies with global frameworks. Rubin has published widely on topics such as pandemic vulnerability, school interventions during crises, and policy termination mechanisms for AMR strategies.
Advising and grants: Rubin has managed major research projects, including the SCAMR initiative (2018–2023), and contributed to the Political Dynamics of Slow-Onset Disasters project (2021–2022). He has also engaged in collaborative workshops, such as the 2021 'Steering against Superbugs' event. His work has been disseminated through podcasts like The AMR Studio (2024) and Champions of the Pandemic Era (2021).
