Olivier Morin

Olivier Morin is a CNRS Chargé de Recherche at the Institut Jean Nicod, currently on detachment to the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History. His interdisciplinary research examines cultural transmission through quantitative cultural history, cognitive science, and cultural evolution frameworks.

Morin investigates how traditions persist across generations through psychologically appealing yet stable forms. His current focus includes the evolution of graphic communication systems, from writing to digital symbols, analyzing their role in preserving cultural information across temporal discontinuities.
