Olivier Jacques is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy Management and Evaluation at the Université de Montréal’s School of Public Health. He holds a PhD in Political Science from McGill University and completed a Skelton-Clark Postdoctoral Fellowship at Queen’s University. His research focuses on the political economy of public policies, fiscal federalism, and healthcare financing in OECD countries. Jacques has expertise in analyzing how austerity, electoral dynamics, and institutional frameworks influence long-term public investments, particularly in healthcare and social welfare systems.

Research Interests: Jacques investigates the political and fiscal determinants of public health investments, the impact of austerity on social policies, and the role of federalism in shaping healthcare financing.
