Richard Nadeau

Richard Nadeau is a Full Professor in the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Université de Montréal. He is affiliated with the Centre pour l'étude de la citoyenneté démocratique (CÉCD). His research focuses on electoral behavior, public opinion, and political communication, with a particular emphasis on long-term factors (ideology, partisan attachment) and short-term influences (leader image, issues) on voter behavior.

His work spans multiple regions, including Quebec, Canada, the US, France, the UK, and Latin America. He has also engaged in scientific popularization through media and served as a consultant for Quebec and Canadian governments.

Grants include funding from FRQSC (Fonds de recherche du Québec - Société et culture) and SSHRC (CRSH). He has supervised numerous MA and PhD students and is involved in collaborative research projects on democratic governance and climate change politics.
