Oliver Wunsch is an Assistant Professor of 18th and 19th Century Art and Director of Undergraduate Studies in Art History at Boston College’s Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University, with prior degrees from Haverford College and Williams College. His research explores materiality, temporality, and race in European and American art, with a focus on how commercial forces influenced art production and degradation in 18th-century France. He authored A Delicate Matter (2024) and contributes to journals like The Art Bulletin and Journal18. His work has been supported by fellowships from institutions including the National Gallery and the Clark Art Institute.
