Oliver Lutz (b. 1973) is an alum and former Lecturer at MIT's Art, Culture, and Technology Program within the School of Architecture + Planning. His work interrogates how media and technology shape contemporary identity through interdisciplinary practices including installation, video, performance, and notation. He holds a Masters from MIT (2006) and a BFA from Cornell University (1996), with additional studies at FAMU in Prague.
Exhibitions include major institutions like Tate Modern (London), SFMOMA (San Francisco), and S.M.A.K. Museum (Gent). Awards include the 2007 IV International Painting Prize. He has been a faculty member at The Banff Centre and Cornell, alongside residencies at Banff Centre and Fogo Island Arts. His research explores mediation processes and spectatorship in digital-age contexts.
