Oliver Hutter is a Senior ViceChancellor’s Fellow at Northumbria University’s Department of Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering since 2020. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Warwick (2015) and previously worked at the University of Liverpool’s Stephenson Institute for Renewable Energy (2015–2020). His research focuses on emerging materials for thin-film solar cells and solar fuels, including antimony selenide, cadmium telluride, and perovskite materials. Hutter’s work emphasizes device fabrication, material characterization, and defect engineering. He supervises self-funded PhD candidates and collaborates on renewable energy projects.
