Oliver Fritsch is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Policy and Law at Murdoch University's School of Environmental and Conservation Sciences, within the College of Environmental and Life Sciences. He holds adjunct positions as Senior Research Fellow at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (Germany) and has held non-resident fellowships at University College London and the University of Novi Sad. His research focuses on environmental policy appraisal, water governance, biodiversity conservation, and transboundary environmental challenges, with regional expertise in Australia, the EU, Indo-Pacific, and the UK.
Key research areas include cost-benefit analysis, regulatory impact assessment, participatory governance, and the effectiveness of environmental decision-making frameworks. He has contributed to influential works on the EU Water Framework Directive, climate diplomacy, and stakeholder engagement in environmental policy.
