Oliver Crook is a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, holding the Todd-Bird Junior Research Fellowship at New College until 2027 and an MRC Career Development Award to lead his research group at the Kavli Institute. His work bridges molecular parasitology, computational biophysics, and artificial intelligence. He develops novel tools for biosecurity, protein design, and spatial proteomics, employing Bayesian models and machine learning. Dr. Crook earned an MMath from the University of Warwick and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge (Wellcome Trust Mathematical Genomics CDT), advised by Kathryn Lilley, Laurent Gatto, and Paul Kirk. He was previously a Research Associate in Oxford’s Department of Statistics with Charlotte Deane and a Florence Nightingale Fellow. He also contributed to a protein design group at the UK Government’s AI Safety Institute.
