Olgierd Górecki serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political and Legal Doctrines at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Lodz. His academic position places him within one of Poland's prominent legal education institutions with a strong tradition in political and legal theory.
Dr. Górecki's research interests focus on historical and contemporary political philosophy, with particular emphasis on Anglo-Saxon liberalism from the 19th and 20th centuries. His scholarly work explores the evolution of libertarian and communitarian thought, while also examining issues related to national minorities and conceptual frameworks of freedom. His methodological approach to political and legal doctrines represents a significant contribution to the field.
Among his major scholarly achievements are the monograph Defense of the Limited State. The Political and Legal Doctrine of Herbert Spencer (Krakow 2013) and his editorial work on the three-volume Human Freedom and Its Limits. Anthology of Concepts in Political and Legal Doctrines (Łódź 2019). These publications demonstrate his expertise in classical liberal thought and the historical development of freedom concepts within political theory.
Dr. Górecki maintains active involvement in academic societies, serving on the board of the Polish Society for Political Thought and as a member of the Płock Scientific Society. His previous affiliation with the Alexis de Tocqueville Center for Political and Legal Thought (2007-2013) further demonstrates his standing within specialized research communities focused on political philosophy.
