Olga Avilova

Dr. Olga Avilova is an Assistant Professor of Medical Education at the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine, Nova Southeastern University (NSU), since January 2025. A Pathologist and Anatomy Educator with over 12 years of global experience, she has pioneered innovative approaches to anatomy education using 3D technologies and virtual reality (VR).

• PhD in Human Anatomy, Kharkiv National Medical University

Her research focuses on experimental medicine, toxicology, embalming techniques, anatomical variation, and the application of VR in anatomy education. She has also developed transformative anatomy workshops and multifunctional research devices for morphologists, earning a patent in 2024.

• Academic Excellence Award at Cleveland Clinic Seminar in Pathology (2019)

Prior to NSU, Dr. Avilova served as Director of Anatomy at Queen Mary University of London and Visiting Academic at Paris Saclay University. She led critical initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, including adapting online education as Vice Dean of the International Faculty at Kharkiv National Medical University.
