Olena Prokopovych is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the Political Science Undergraduate Program at Nazareth College. She holds a B.A. from Williams College and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. Her work emphasizes creating intellectual 'wow' moments in teaching, focusing on American politics, constitutional history, and global social policies.

Prokopovych specializes in American government, constitutional history, and Ukraine-Russia political dynamics. She teaches courses like Ukraine, Russia and the West: Historical Roots of the Current Crisis and pioneered Nazareth’s first student/faculty learning trip to Ukraine in 2019. Her recent work addresses Ukraine’s 2013-2014 Euromaidan protests and their global implications.
Professional Contributions
Active in community engagement, she collaborates with Rochester’s Ukrainian-American community and has been a featured panelist on WXXI’s Connections discussing the Ukraine-Russia conflict. She prioritizes enhancing students’ research and communication skills across all courses.
