Olah Hakim

Olah Hakim is a Lecturer at the School of Life and Health Sciences, University of Roehampton. Their research focuses on the interplay between ectopic fat deposition, type 2 diabetes, and ethnic disparities using advanced imaging techniques like MRI/Spectroscopy.

• Education: BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences (Biochemistry) from Brunel University London (2009), PhD in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism from King’s College London.
• Research Interests: Specializes in understanding how visceral and organ-specific fat (liver, pancreas, muscles) contributes to metabolic disorders, particularly in ethnic minority populations.
• Teaching: Module Leader for Physiology and Metabolism, and lecturer on Nutrition of Population Groups.
