Oksana Kashyntseva serves as an Adjunct Researcher at the University of Zurich within the University Research Priority Program (URPP) Human Reproduction Reloaded (H2R), following her tenure as a visiting scholar under the SAR Scholars at Risk grant until January 2024. She concurrently holds leadership positions at the Ukrainian National Academy of Legal Sciences as Head of the Center for Harmonization of Human Rights and Chief of the Department of Human Rights and IP Rights in Health Care, while also practicing as an Attorney-at-Law and serving as a UNDP national consultant in Ukraine.
Her research critically examines human rights intersections with healthcare systems, focusing on:
- Reproductive rights frameworks for LGBT+ populations
- Legal status of children conceived via assisted reproduction after parental death (postmortem conception)
- Intellectual property governance in medical innovation
- Bioethical standardization across healthcare delivery
Recognition includes the SAR Scholars at Risk fellowship enabling her academic refuge. She actively coordinates the Platform of Fight for Health of PLWHIV while directing research teams at the Ukrainian National Academy of Legal Sciences, driving policy initiatives that harmonize human rights protections with healthcare IP frameworks.
