Oisik Das is Associate Professor at Luleå University of Technology's Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering. His research develops sustainable materials with enhanced fire safety properties.
Key focus areas include biochar-enhanced composites, flame-retardant polymers, wood modification techniques, and hydrogen safety engineering. He pioneered biochar integration in composites during his PhD and investigates fire behavior across material systems.
He received the Royal Skyttean Society Prize for Young Researchers (2022) and leads multiple projects funded by FORMAS and ÅForsk. As international coordinator, he manages university partnerships and student recruitment. Teaches Fire Dynamics and Biochar fundamentals courses.
