معرفی
Gaëlle Fontaine is a Professor at Centrale Lille Institute, affiliated with the Materials and Transformations Unit (UMET CNRS UMR 8207) at the University of Lille and the National School of Chemistry of Lille. She leads research in Polymer Systems Engineering with specialization in fire safety science.
Her primary research domains include:
- Fire reaction mechanisms and resistance of polymeric materials
- Development of novel flame retardants via reactive extrusion
- Design of intumescent coatings and geopolymer composites
- Flame retardancy optimization for bioplastics like PLA and PBS
Recent publications (2022-2024) demonstrate strong focus on:
- Advanced characterization of flame-retardant mechanisms using NMR and spectroscopy
- Development of bio-based fire-safe composites and aerogels
- Modeling of pyrolysis behavior and fire performance optimization
- Innovative applications in construction materials and coatings
Professor Fontaine maintains an active research group, having supervised 18 PhD students (including 6 current advisees). She collaborates extensively within the Polymer Systems Engineering team and has contributed to patented flame-retardant technologies.
