Siqi Huo

Dr. Siqi Huo is a Senior Lecturer and ARC DECRA Fellow at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Engineering, specializing in Engineering Materials. His research focuses on developing advanced fire-retardant polymer composites and sustainable materials solutions.

Dr. Huo earned his BSc and PhD from WHUT (Wuhan University of Technology), completing his BSc in 2013 and PhD in 2018. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Zhejiang University from 2020 to 2022 before joining the University of Southern Queensland as a Lecturer and ARC DECRA Fellow in 2023, advancing to Senior Lecturer in 2025.

His research expertise spans polymer composites, recyclable polymers, and fire retardants, with particular focus on developing flame-retardant epoxy resins, polymer nanocomposites, and sustainable materials. Dr. Huo has made significant contributions to understanding the relationship between material structure and fire performance, developing novel flame-retardant systems that maintain mechanical properties while enhancing safety features.

Analysis of Dr. Huo's recent publications reveals a strong focus on fire-retardant materials, particularly single-component epoxy systems with enhanced latency and thermal stability.
