Offiong Aqua is a Clinical Associate Professor with joint appointments in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Communicative Sciences and Disorders at New York University's Steinhardt School. Born in Nigeria, he earned his medical degree from Friendship University in Moscow and completed postgraduate training in Facio-Maxillary Surgery.
Aqua's work focuses on global health initiatives, particularly in African contexts. He developed NYU's academic partnership with Ghana's Ministry of Health, establishing the university's first health-related course abroad. As a core member of NYU Africa House, he advances research on African healthcare systems. His international projects include health system audits in Nigeria's Akwa-Ibom State and proposals for functional healthcare systems in oil-producing regions serving 40 million people.
