Novia Chen is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston, where she has been teaching since 2015. She specializes in Taxation of Business Entities for the MSACCY and CAP programs.

- B.S. in Business Administration, Renmin University of China (2008)
Her research lies at the intersection of taxation and financial accounting, focusing on income shifting and foreign cash holdings of U.S. multinational firms, determinants of corporate tax avoidance, and financial reporting and disclosure of income taxes. She has published in leading journals such as The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Management Science.
