Nora Doyle

Nora Doyle is an Associate Professor at the Department of History within the College of Arts and Sciences at Western Carolina University. She specializes in Early America, Antebellum United States, and the history of medicine, with a focus on gender, sexuality, and maternal health.

Education: PhD and MA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Research & Publications: Her award-winning book Maternal Bodies: Redefining Motherhood in Early America (2018) explores intersections of medicine, gender, and motherhood. She has published in journals like the Journal of American History, Bulletin of the History of Medicine, and Feminist Studies.
