Professor Noel Lindsay is the Dean of Business at the Adelaide Business School and Pro Vice Chancellor (Entrepreneurship) at the University of Adelaide. He is a Professor of Entrepreneurship & Commercialisation, leading the Adelaide Business School and the University's ThincLab Innovation Hubs. Previously, he served as Academic Director of the Singapore Ngee Ann-Adelaide Campus, Head of the School of Marketing & Management, and Acting Associate Dean for Diversity & Inclusion. His academic journey includes establishing an Australian university in South Africa with campuses in Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Cape Town.
Education: BCom (Hons) and PhD from the University of Adelaide. Professional memberships include Fellow of CPA Australia, Member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, and Member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners.
Research focuses on social and business entrepreneurship, particularly empowering disadvantaged communities. Notable projects include the South Africa Socio-Economic Disadvantage Schools Project (2011-2015) and the Digital Enterprise initiative for young people with disabilities (2013-2015). He has secured over $2.9 million in grants for these initiatives, including a $657,874 contribution to the latter.
Teaching specialties include innovation, new venture planning, and venture financing. He is committed to outreach through online and blended learning strategies to reach diverse audiences.
Leadership extends to venture capital fundraising, audit, insolvency, and business advisory roles. His work emphasizes fostering an entrepreneurial culture within the university and broader communities.
