Noam Dover (b. 1975) is a lecturer at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and Holon Institute of Technology in Israel, while pursuing a PhD at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology. His practice critically integrates digital fabrication with traditional craft methodologies, specializing in ceramics and glass.
Education:
- MFA in Craft! Ceramics and Glass, Konstfack College University of Art, Craft and Design, Stockholm
- BA in Industrial Design, Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem
Dover's research interrogates cultural origins of materials and techniques, developing custom digital tools (e.g., ceramic 3D printers) to democratize craft production. He advocates for open-source knowledge sharing to redefine contemporary craft, creating objects that narrate their own making process through synergy between handcrafted and digital workflows. His work challenges conventional boundaries between design, craft, and industrial production.
The studio of Noam Dover and Michal Cederbaum has exhibited globally—including "SOFT INTERPRETATIONS IN PINK" (2023) and "AMPHORAE&THREAD" (2021–2023)—and received multiple unspecified prizes, with works held in private and public collections. Their multidisciplinary platform fosters dialogue-led collaborations, merging local fabrication with global knowledge exchange to explore new craft paradigms.
