Nnamdi Nwahara

Dr. Nnamdi Nwahara is a Research Associate specializing in Biosensor Development at Teesside University's National Horizons Centre. With a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from Rhodes University, his research focuses on bioinorganic complexes for photomedicine and nanomaterial-based biosensors.

His work integrates surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) and fluorescence-based immunoassays to develop sensitive diagnostic platforms. Key research areas include theranostic applications combining targeted therapy with molecular diagnostics, development of porphyrinoid-nanomaterial conjugates for photodynamic cancer therapy, and enzyme-free electrochemical sensors for disease biomarkers.

Publications demonstrate innovations in photosensitizer design, nanohybrid sensor fabrication, and advanced catalytic systems. Recent work explores multifunctional nanomaterials for combined photodynamic therapy and hyperthermia treatment.
