Nivedita Kothiyal is a Lecturer in Management at the School for Business and Society, University of York. Her academic career spans over two decades, focusing on Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour. She previously served as Associate Professor at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) in India. She specializes in decent work, gender/diversity management, workforce development, and corporate social responsibility, employing postcolonial theory and critical management studies. Nivedita has taught at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, covering Organisational Behaviour, HRM, Research Methods, Diversity, and Ethics. She has also conducted executive training for professionals in Asia and Africa.
Her research has been published in top-tier journals like the British Journal of Management and Academy of Management Learning & Education, as well as edited volumes from Cambridge University Press and Sage. She reviews for journals including Journal of Business Ethics and Academy of Management Learning and Education. Her work explores themes such as hybrid spaces in Indian business education, methodological rigor in global research, and disability inclusion in the workplace.
Nivedita’s expertise extends to cross-cultural and international contexts, with a focus on decolonizing management studies and ethical practices. She actively engages in policy discussions around CSR, diversity, and workforce development. Her current role at the University of York involves teaching, research, and contributing to the School’s mission of fostering socially responsible business practices.
