Dr. Nisha Gupta is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of West Georgia's College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Duquesne University, an MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University, and a BS in Psychology and Communications from New York University. As an arts-based phenomenological researcher and trauma-informed psychotherapist, her work integrates clinical practice with scholarly inquiry into creative consciousness and healing transformations.
Her research focuses on:
- Developing arts-based phenomenological methodologies for psychological inquiry
- Trauma recovery through culturally responsive therapeutic art-making
