Nish Belford is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Curriculum Teaching & Inclusive Education at Monash University, specializing in Visual Art, Design Education, and Creative Arts Education. She integrates her roles as artist, researcher, and teacher (a/r/t) to explore cultural diversity, gender, and postcoloniality in educational contexts.

Her research focuses on culturally responsive pedagogies, postcolonial feminist theory, and transnational migration studies. Using autoethnography and visual research methods, she examines how cultural diversity can be supported in education, with specific attention to race, gender, and identity negotiation among transnational women of colour.
Recent publications emphasize arts-based methodologies, decolonial lenses, and the intersection of migration with educational equity. Her work contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goal of Quality Education.
