Free University of Berlinمعرفی
Dr. Ninja Braukmüller is a Research Scientist and ICP-MS Lab Manager at the Department of Geochemistry, Hydrogeology, and Mineralogy within the Institute of Geological Sciences at Freie Universität Berlin. She specializes in planetary geochemistry, focusing on volatile element depletion in planetary materials and the formation of Earth’s building blocks. Her research integrates advanced isotope geochemistry techniques to study chondrites, meteorites, and terrestrial rocks.
Key achievements include the 2019 Beate-Mocek-Preis (German Mineralogical Society) and the 2020 Klaus-Liebrecht Preis (University of Cologne). She leads the ERC Advanced Grant 'DEVENDRA' (2023–present), investigating weathering processes in basalt and carbonate terrains. Her work bridges cosmochemistry and Earth’s volatile evolution, with recent contributions to studies showing Earth contains material unexplained by known meteorite compositions.
Her lab manages state-of-the-art ICP-MS facilities, enabling precise trace element and isotope analyses. Research collaborations span global institutions, addressing topics like magma dynamics (Piton de la Fournaise) and early solar system processes.
