Ninaad Lasrado, Ph.D., is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Barouch Laboratory at the Center for Virology and Vaccines Research (CVVR), Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT, and Harvard, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on immunological mechanisms of mRNA vaccines and development of next-generation vaccines against infectious diseases.
Dr. Lasrado's educational background includes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from St. Aloysius College, India (2018)
- Ph.D. in Integrative Biomedical Sciences from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
His research spans virology and immunology, with expertise in single-cell RNA sequencing to dissect viral myocarditis and develop novel vaccines. During his doctoral work, he created the first live-attenuated Coxsackievirus B vaccine protecting against myocarditis and type-1 diabetes. Current research focuses on mRNA vaccine mechanisms and next-generation platforms for infectious disease prevention.
Dr. Lasrado has received significant recognition:
- American Association of Immunologists Trainee award
- Susan Ann Smith Memorial Fellowship
- UNL departmental Widaman Distinguished Graduate Fellowship
No information on student advising or active grants is provided in the source text. He actively advocates for inclusion and better representation of people of color in STEM fields.
As a member of the Barouch Laboratory, he contributes to the Ragon Institute's collaborative virology and vaccine research ecosystem spanning Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and MIT, with emphasis on cutting-edge immunological approaches to combat viral pathogens.
