Dr. Joseph Nkolola is a Staff Scientist at the Center for Virology and Vaccine Research (CVVR) at Harvard University. He joined the Barouch Laboratory in 2007 and serves as sectional leader, coordinating efforts to develop and test HIV Envelope subunit protein vaccines to elicit protective antibody responses against the virus.
- BS in Biology/Chemistry, University of Zambia (1993)
- MS in Molecular Biology, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium (1998)
- PhD in Immunology, Oxford University (2004)
Dr. Nkolola’s research focuses on HIV vaccine development, leveraging immunology and molecular biology to design subunit protein vaccines that confer viral protection. His work emphasizes antibody response mechanisms and translational applications in virology.
He has received the John E. Fogarty AIDS International Training and Research Program (AITRP) fellowship for his postdoctoral training at Harvard School of Public Health.
