Dr. Nina Wootton is a Post-doctoral Researcher in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the Southern Seas Ecology Laboratories. Her work focuses on marine plastic pollution, blue carbon ecosystems, and science education. She develops microplastic sampling standards, collaborates on coastal restoration projects using Environmental Economic Accounting (EEA), and engages students through the 'Finding the Fab Five' program.
Her research spans global plastic contamination in seafood, chemical analysis of marine plastics, and Indigenous perspectives in ecosystem valuation. She advises on Masters/PhD projects as a co-supervisor and actively communicates science to diverse audiences through workshops and public outreach.
