Nina Gacic is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Faculty of Theology, University of Oslo. Her research focuses on Jewish minority experiences in Norway, particularly how Jewish culture, religion, and history are presented in upper secondary schools and their impact on young Jews' identity formation. Previously, she worked as an elementary school teacher for 13 years, specializing in Religion and Ethics education. She holds a master's degree in Religious Education from the MF Norwegian School of Theology (2019) and began her PhD in 2024.
Her academic interests include phenomenology of religion, Jewish studies, and lived religion, with an emphasis on school contexts and intercultural interactions. She has explored how direct encounters with Jewish guides influence non-Jewish students' knowledge construction about Jewish culture and stereotypes.
Her publications include a 2023 article in PRISMET analyzing Jewish guides as tools to combat prejudice. She is fluent in Norwegian, Bosnian, and English.
