Nina Cedergreen

Nina Cedergreen serves as Professor in the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Science, specializing in the Section for Environmental Chemistry and Physics. Her research investigates chemical-environment interactions with emphasis on cocktail effects and synergistic stressors including parasites, starvation, and climate variables.

Key interests span ecotoxicology, pesticide risk assessment, and environmental chemistry, particularly examining how chemical mixtures interact with biological stressors in natural systems.

Cedergreen teaches BSc "Environmental Chemistry in Biological Systems" and leads MSc courses in "Toxicology & Ecotoxicology" and "Pesticide use, Mode of Action and Ecotoxicology," plus the PhD "Dynamic Modelling of Toxic Effects." She has mentored over 100 BSc/MSc students and 20+ PhD/postdocs while maintaining active roles in SETAC Europe and AMRAP research consortia.

Her laboratory drives experimental research on chemical stressors through national and international collaborations, with recent work focusing on analytical method validation, pharmaceutical impacts in sediments, and cross-stressor interactions in ecological risk assessment.
