Michelle D. Boone is an Associate Professor in the Biology Department at Miami University. Her research focuses on anthropogenic impacts on amphibian communities, including chemical contamination, habitat alteration, disease pathogens, and invasive species.
Research interests include:
- Ecotoxicology of pesticides on amphibian development
- Interactions between chytrid fungus and environmental stressors
- Effects of habitat change on amphibian dispersal
- Community ecology under multiple stressors
Her work integrates field and laboratory studies to examine species interactions and community structure under human-induced environmental changes. Key publications highlight sub-lethal pesticide effects, habitat management strategies, and disease-chemical interactions in amphibians.
She teaches courses in:
- Introduction to Biology (BIO 115)
- Environmental Biology (BIO 121)
- Conservation Biology (BIO 467/567)
