Nina Brooks is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Global Health at the Boston University School of Public Health. She is also an Affiliated Faculty at the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS), a Faculty Affiliate with the BUSPH Center for Climate and Health, and a Core Faculty Member of the Human Capital Initiative at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center.

- BA in Political Economy from UC Berkeley
Dr. Brooks’ research explores the intersection of environmental and social factors affecting health, with a focus on evidence generation for climate and health policy in the Global South. Her work spans topics such as energy efficiency interventions in Bangladesh’s brick sector, heat stress impacts on reproductive health, and agricultural variability’s influence on fertility preferences in sub-Saharan Africa. She integrates methodologies from economics, demography, data science, geography, and epidemiology.
Her affiliations highlight cross-disciplinary engagement with climate sustainability, global health, and policy research through institutions including the IGS and Global Development Policy Center.
