Nina Bellisio is the Assistant Dean of Curricular Innovation & Evaluation and Professor of Visual Communications at St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC), where she has served since 2011. Her roles focus on integrating technology into learning and embedding design thinking into interdisciplinary curricula. She holds a BFA from Cornell University, an MFA from the University of California, Berkeley, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Creative Technologies at Columbia University’s Teachers College.
Her professional activities include VP for Outreach at Integrative Teaching International, aiding in organizing educational initiatives like ThinkTank and ThinkCatalyst. She has presented research on educational technology and design thinking at conferences such as SECAC, FATE, and AIGA Design Educators. Previously, Bellisio taught at the Art Institute of California-San Francisco for a decade, winning the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. She also contributed to Edutopia (George Lucas Educational Foundation) as an e-learning producer and worked with First Exposures, mentoring underserved students in photography.
Her teaching portfolio includes courses in Art, Art Therapy, and Graphic Design. Scholarly interests span educational innovation, technology integration, and creative pedagogy.
