Ingela Nilsson is a Professor of Greek specializing in Byzantine Greek at Uppsala University since 2010. She has held adjunct professorships at the University of Oslo and prior academic roles including Associate and Assistant Professor at Uppsala. Her research bridges Greek literature, Byzantine literature, and narratology.
- BA in Greek, Latin, Modern Greek from Göteborg University (1994)
- PhD in Greek from Göteborg University (2001)
Her work focuses on Byzantine textual narratives, critical editions of Constantine Manasses' ekphraseis, and reception studies. She leads the Text and Narrative in Byzantium research network and collaborates internationally on Byzantine authorship studies.
