معرفی
Nils Anfinset is a Professor and Vice-Dean at the University Museum of Bergen, specializing in Neolithic and Bronze Age archaeology, metallurgy, and research ethics. His work bridges Western Norway and the Near East, focusing on pastoral nomadism, copper production, and political economy development. He teaches research ethics for master's students (courses ARK 301, ARK 201, ARK 102, ARK103).
Anfinset’s research explores ethics in archaeology, particularly concerning human remains and cultural heritage in conflict zones. His recent publications emphasize Bronze Age Scandinavia, metallurgical processes, and global heritage challenges, including Gaza and Palestine. He co-edits proceedings on local societies and ethnoarchaeology.
His articles highlight interdisciplinary approaches, merging experimental archaeology with ethnographic studies to analyze copper smelting in Nepal and Western Norway. Themes include artifact symbolism, settlement patterns, and repatriation ethics, addressing colonial legacies and cultural rights. He advocates for responsible research frameworks in politically sensitive contexts.
As Vice-Dean, he contributes to university governance and heritage policy, with a focus on digital preservation and community engagement. His documentary Tama Gaun - the copper village (2014) and ongoing projects, such as the Palmyrena initiative, underscore his commitment to cross-cultural archaeology and ethical scholarship.
