Nilo Tsung

Dr. Nilo Tsung is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and has over 40 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering, construction project management, and infrastructure systems. His academic roles include teaching advanced courses in construction productivity, project scheduling, and geotechnical aspects of construction.

He has pioneered studies comparing open-cut and trenchless pipeline installation methods, as well as historical infrastructure resilience.

Teaching and Service:
He has taught over 50 courses at UTA, including Construction Productivity, Building Information Modeling, and Geotechnical Aspects of Construction. He actively serves on departmental committees (ABET, Graduate Studies) and advises the Design Build Institute of America student chapter. His service also includes roles at Texas A&M Commerce and public safety initiatives.
