Nikolou Kalomira is an Assistant Professor of Linguistics (specializing in Phonology of Greek and Dialects) at the Department of Mediterranean Studies, University of the Aegean. She holds a PhD and honors degree from the same institution's Department of Mediterranean Studies. Her academic journey includes postgraduate studies at Leiden University (Netherlands) and the Central European Summer School in Generative Grammar (Czech Republic) under Erasmus scholarships, as well as a postdoctoral fellowship at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).

Research Interests: Focuses on phonology, dialectology, and comparative analysis of Greek and Southeastern Mediterranean languages. Her work examines the interplay between phonology and morphology, with emphasis on typological comparisons of Greek, Arabic, and Turkish linguistic systems.
Research Contributions: Actively involved in field research for Greek dialect documentation through collaborative projects. Participated in programs such as PYTHAGORAS (2004-2006), 'Education of Foreign/Repatriated Students' (AUTH, 2011-2012), and 'Polynesianity' (University of the Aegean, 2013-2014). Presented at international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
Teaching Experience: Served as a lecturer (PD 407/80) at Democritus University of Thrace (2009-2012), University of Patras, and her current institution.
