Dr Nikolaos Antypas is a Lecturer in Finance at the ICMA Centre, Henley Business School, University of Reading, where he joined in September 2018. He serves as Exams Officer for Postgraduate Programmes.

His research focuses on Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Corporate Governance, ESG, and CEO Turnover/Succession. Key studies examine post-2008 financial crisis M&A performance improvements, shipping industry M&A dynamics, and the role of executive leadership and governance in deal outcomes.
Dr Antypas’ publications span M&A across sectors, including finance, shipping, and ESG integration. He has co-authored works in European Financial Management, Maritime Economics & Logistics, and Transportation Research Part E, often analyzing governance, financial leverage, and industry-specific factors.
He teaches Portfolio Management (IC204) and Introductory Quantitative Techniques for Business and Finance (IC104). His Executive Education experience includes sessions on corporate finance, valuation, and leveraged buyouts for major financial institutions.
