Nikolajs Zeps is an Adjunct Professor at Monash University's Eastern Health Clinical School and Clinical Research Lead for Monash Partners. He has extensive experience as Research Director at St John of God HealthCare (2012–2016) and Epworth HealthCare (2017–2021). He is a founding member of the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) and chairs the PC4 Advisory Committee. His expertise spans clinical trial design, regulatory ethics, and translational research.
Education: PhD in Cancer Biology (University of Western Australia, 2001) and BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences (King's College London, 1992).
Research focuses on cancer biology, clinical trials, and healthcare system optimization. He leads projects on trial acceleration, biobank sustainability, and genomic data governance. Key collaborations include work on ovarian cancer genomics (Nature Communications, 2024) and breast cancer risk loci (Breast Cancer Research, 2022).
Recent articles highlight genomic analysis of tumors, ethical frameworks for epigenetic editing (Stem Cell Reports, 2021), and biobank sustainability (Biomarker Insights, 2021). He has secured funding for initiatives like the Victorian Lung Cancer Registry and pregnancy care programs.
