Alberta Hoi is a Professor (Research) at Monash University's School of Clinical Sciences and leads the Lupus+ Clinical Research Hub. She is also Head of the Monash Lupus Clinic and holds senior rheumatology roles at Monash Health and Austin Health. With over 25 years of clinical experience, her expertise focuses on systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjogren's syndrome, and dermatomyositis. She chairs the Australian Lupus Registry & Biobank and actively contributes to international initiatives like the Asia Pacific Lupus Collaboration (APLC) and OMERACT working groups.
Education:

Research Interests: Prof. Hoi’s work centers on SLE clinical science, including disease predictors, comorbidities, and patient-centered care. She investigates immunosuppressant efficacy, pregnancy optimization in SLE, and transition care for pediatric patients. Her research also addresses healthcare disparities in Indigenous populations.
Grants & Leadership: Her work is supported by Arthritis Australia, the Medical Research Future Fund, and industry partners. She has served as Treasurer of the Australian Rheumatology Association (2022–2024) and holds leadership roles in professional organizations like the Australian Chinese Medical Association of Victoria.
