Niklas Ziemann

Dr. Niklas Ziemann is a Researcher at the Chair of Energy Economics at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg since November 2022. Previously, he served as a Research Assistant at the Chair of Economics, University of Potsdam (2018–2022), and held roles at institutions including the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology and the Johann Heinrich von Thünen Institute.

He holds a Master of Science in International Area Studies (2015–2018) and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Economics (2011–2015) from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. His research interests span energy economics, resilience studies, and rural development, reflecting his interdisciplinary background in economics and social sciences.

Dr. Ziemann has received notable awards, including the Reinhard Selten Scholarship (2020) and a DAAD-funded internship abroad (2015). He currently oversees a team of research and student assistants focusing on energy industry research and policy analysis.

His academic contributions include collaborative projects on energy systems transformation and policy frameworks, leveraging his expertise in both theoretical and applied economic analysis.
