Nikhil Celly is an Assistant Dean for Strategic & Global Initiatives and Professor of Competitive Strategy and International Business at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston. He leads global initiatives and teaches core strategic management courses alongside electives on global strategy and international business. His research focuses on firm competitiveness, innovation, emerging markets strategy, and strategic ambidexterity, employing large datasets and executive interviews across multiple countries.
Dr. Celly has published in top journals like the Strategic Management Journal and Journal of Management Studies, and authored cases on multinational firms such as Tencent, Haier, and Bharti Airtel. His work examines cross-border business strategies, IT-enabled supply chains, and institutional dynamics in emerging markets. Prior to academia, he held senior executive roles in consulting and education ventures, including a $10M venture-backed international education startup.
His research trends emphasize strategic adaptation in volatile markets, leveraging technology for global competitiveness, and understanding institutional contexts in emerging economies. He has advised organizations like Cisco on smart cities and The World Bank on distance learning initiatives. Nikhil also serves on a non-profit board and brings industry experience to academic leadership, blending strategy research with practical executive education.
