Professor Nihat Kasap is a faculty member at the Sabancı Business School, Sabancı University, Istanbul, Turkey. He holds the rank of Professor of Business Analytics and previously served as Dean from September 2018 to March 2024, Acting Dean from March 2018 to September 2018, and Director of the Management Undergraduate Program from 2010 to 2013 and 2017 to 2018. He has also held leadership roles in the Information Technologies in Management (ITM) Graduate Program as Co-Director from 2005 to 2009.
Education includes a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Information Systems & Operations Management) from the University of Florida (2004), an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2000), and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Middle East Technical University (1994). His research focuses on vendor selection strategies, telecommunication networks, and reinforcement learning applications in control systems. He has extensive teaching experience in Management and Information Systems at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Prior roles include faculty positions at the University of Florida (2001–2004) and visiting instructorships. His career spans academia with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary applications of business analytics and operations management.
