Nigel Purvis is a Professor of the Practice at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. He combines academic expertise with extensive experience as a U.S. diplomat, international lawyer, and leader in climate policy. His affiliations include Climate Advisers (founder/CEO), The Brookings Institution (Senior Fellow), and The Nature Conservancy (Vice President for Policy).

Research Focus: Climate change policy, international environmental law, carbon markets, and biodiversity conservation. His work bridges diplomacy, business, and academia to advance global climate action. Recent teaching includes courses on Climate Change Policy & Law and International Environmental Law.
