Nigel Bark

Nigel Bark, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He serves as Director of Schizophrenia Research at Bronx Psychiatric Center (BPC), where he has conducted trials of antipsychotics and researched schizophrenia since 1990. His expertise includes movement disorders, psychopharmacology, and psychiatric epidemiology. He maintains a private practice in Manhattan and Rockland County focusing on psychopharmacology.

Dr. Bark chairs the Pan-American International Division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and has served on the Einstein Committee on Clinical Investigations (IRB) for 12 years, including 5 as Vice-Chair. He is also a Trustee of the American Council on Science and Health.

His research interests span schizophrenia assessment methodologies (e.g., PANSS, BPRS rating scales), movement disorder clinics, and ethical research practices. He actively trains clinical staff, fellows, and residents in psychiatric evaluation techniques.
