Nienke Grossman is Professor of Law and Co-Director of the Center for International and Comparative Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law, teaching international law, Civil Procedure, and Conflict of Laws. She received the 2018 School of Law Excellence in Teaching Award and maintains active roles in global legal institutions.
Her educational qualifications include:

Grossman pioneers feminist approaches to international law with expertise in International Courts and Tribunals, International Human Rights, Public International Law, and Conflict of Laws. Her scholarship appears in the American Journal of International Law and Virginia Journal of International Law, focusing on gender justice frameworks and institutional legitimacy in global governance. She co-edits the Oxford Handbook of Women and International Law (2025) and Legitimacy and International Courts (Cambridge, 2018).

Grossman leads the Center for International and Comparative Law while serving in high-impact international roles: elected to the OAS Inter-American Juridical Committee (2024) as the first U.S. woman and Latina member; Special Advisor to the UN Special Rapporteur on DPRK human rights (2023); co-chair of ASIL's Advancing Gender Justice initiative; and legal advisor to Latin American states in ICJ cases. She previously served on the Free Yezidi Foundation Board and evaluated Inter-American Commission candidates (2017).
