Nicolette Bardele

Nicolette Bardele is a Postdoctoral Scholar at The Pennsylvania State University's Criminal Justice Research Center (CJRC). Her research and teaching focus on probation, parole, incarceration and reentry, spatial inequality, social networks, and health outcomes.

At the CJRC, she collaborates with Derek Kreager on mixed-methods projects exploring social network formation and support systems in post-prison reentry and substance use recovery contexts. Her dissertation research examined how spatial and temporal contexts shape probation/parole experiences across rural-urban communities in the U.S.

Her methodological approach combines qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze community dynamics, inequality, and health outcomes in criminal justice systems.

She holds a temporary position at an R1 research institution, working on criminal justice policy and recovery networks.
